Conventional road aggregates in India are natural aggregates obtained by crushing rocks. The physical properties of coarse aggregate are more significant in new generation bituminous mixtures. Aggregate characteristics such as particle size, shape, and texture influence the performance and serviceability of hot mix asphalt pavement. Finally, the mechanical performance of the bituminous mixtures was compared to the mastic behaviour, by correlating the results obtained in the previous tests on the mastic and on the bituminous mixtures. The main conclusions of this work were drawn from those correlations, allowing to understand the influence of the mastic in the bituminous.
This research is focused on the dynamic behavior and failure mechanisms of an ecologically vegetated bituminous mixture applied in a riverbank revetment model. The dynamic bearing capacity of the vegetated riparian slope was evaluated. The dynamic soil pressure distribution and deformation were analyzed, followed by 3D elastic–plastic finite element : Wei Chen, Ruoyu Jin, Han Zhu, Yidong Xu, Dariusz Wanatowski, Lili He, Qinglin Guo. Deformation properties and fatigue performance are important characteristics of asphalt bound materials which are used for construction of pavement layers.
